Privacy Policy

Overview

Watch Catalog (“we,” “us”) lets you browse, search, and compare watches, and optionally create an account to save favorites, build a personal collection, write reviews, and set up saved-search alerts. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Account information: if you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google instead of a password.
• Content you add: favorites, My Collection entries, saved searches, target prices on favorites, wrist shots and watch photos you submit, “helpful” votes, and any reviews or review photos you submit are stored and associated with your account.
• Typical price paid: prices you enter in My Collection may be combined into an anonymous median shown on a watch page, only once at least 5 collectors have entered a price. Individual prices are never shown.
• Anonymous usage data: we record which watches are viewed and which outbound retailer/official-site links are clicked, to understand what's popular. These records are not tied to your account, IP address, or any other identifying information.
• Cookies and local storage: used to keep you signed in, and to remember preferences like dark mode and display currency.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Provide core features like login, favorites, My Collection, and reviews.
• Send transactional emails you've asked for, such as saved-search alerts and password-reset links, via our email provider (Resend).
• Understand aggregate usage so we can improve the catalog.
• Keep the site secure and prevent abuse (for example, rate-limiting logins).

We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to run the site:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage for photos.
• Resend — delivery of transactional emails (alerts, password reset).
• Vercel — hosting and privacy-respecting site analytics.
• Google — optional sign-in with your Google account.

Your choices

You can update or remove your favorites, My Collection entries, saved searches, and reviews at any time from within the app. To request a copy of your data or to have your account and associated data deleted, contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

Watch Catalog is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
